This Business communication subject aims to acquire knowledge, skills, and practical techniques for effective communication in a multicultural business environment. The focus is on skills for dealing with conflicts, intercultural communication and business correspondence.
On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
- Apply effectively new knowledge for communication in a business environment
- Lead discussions and solve problems in a working environment
- Use their writing, verbal and nonverbal communication skills in a business environment
- Listen and deliver effective working messages and business presentations
A student-centred approach will be used to present the basic concepts and principles of business communication through interactive lectures, demonstrations and class discussions. Reflective practice will be used to explain and elaborate specific problem areas. Students will also be expected to engage in self-directed learning.
